Tribute To Harry

You can climb a mountain
You can swim the sea
You can jump into the fire
But you'll never be free
Or I can break you down
You can shake me up
We can make each other happy
You can jump into the fire

For the first time in many months,
I knelt and prayed.

For them three.
They deserve for things to be as they should.  And they will be as they should.

And for myself.

It felt weird to do that.  But it also felt familiar.

To you three:
All three of you should smile.  Beautiful smiles.

Everything will be better.

And I will always be happy to have had the hugs that I received.  The smiles.  The I love you's.  The story times.  The noise.  The mess.  The love that I didn't even have to earn...it was just mine.

Thank you.  For everything.

Three-Quarters

Few times in my life are times that I can truly say I've made up my mind.
There have plenty of times where I made a choice, only to have it immediately become "wishy washy" for me.  So, obviously my mind wasn't truly made up.

I have noticed that I have been doing a lot of research, phone number collecting, and even began pounding the pavement.  So I am pretty sure that I have made up my mind.

Sort of an Era of my life is three-quarters over.

This is very exciting.

***
Maybe less than three-quarters, but it is indeed my goal.

Taxes Done

For the final time, I got totally screwed.
Next tax time won't be the same.
Thank Heaven.

Pens Game

It was time to wrap up the approval process of a motor control center.  So it was a trip back to Pitt.  This time it was Willie who accompanied me.  I handled the schematics, and he handled the black magic of programming.
Afterwards we all went to see a Pens game in a private box.  It was incredible!
The trip involved me getting a chance to play some piano.  I hadn't touched ivories in over a year.
It felt good to play.

We got ourselves a limo to the game.  I am pretty sure it was my first limo ride.

There was a private bar, and some cool lights in the limo.  I played with the lighting controls, probably to everyone's chagrin.

The private box was loaded with food, snacks, leather furniture, and loads of beer.

The game was tight.  Ended up being won by the Pens in a shootout, 1-0.  In other words, it went three periods and an overtime without a score.
***
It was Willie's first time at a Pens game.  He is a huge fan, but just never made it to a game before.  So he was in heaven.  I thought it was pretty cool to get to a pro game, myself.

And I am glad the motor control center is wrapped up finally.

These Eyes Are Dangerous

I went to the bank to finally deposit a check from my company.  They were getting a bit testy since they issued it back in January and I lost it.  Then they reissued it and...I guess I didn't need the money?

(Also, my ATM card was no longer working, which was my true inspiration for going in the first place.)

As I am standing there, the lady working the drive through turns around and starts staring at me.
I began to get a bit uncomfy.
She then asked if I was Paul.  I told her that I was, but had no idea how she would know who I am.
She then went on about how it must have been since October since I had been there, and she never saw me with glasses, and never saw me with a beard (so it must have been longer than October).
I didn't mention it, but I am also 20 pounds lighter than I was back in October.  But anyways.
I asked her how she would know my name if it had been so long, and since I looked so different.

She replied with "your eyes".

Odd.

Dude, whatever happened to just using the hand?
Disgrace.

Tuesday, March 22, 2011

Thanks, Shiner.
You drove 30 minutes in the early hours of the morning to help me.
Really nice, especially after booting you.
Kinda awkward with your fiancĂ©e there, but I wasn't going to complain.
And for the record, I do not look like Jimmy Stewart.  Geez.

It's Alive

Carb cleaning.
Battery charging.
Repeated attempts to turn over the engine.

And it's alive.
Took it to the next driveway and back.
Runs like crapola, but soon enough it will be running smooth.
Damn rockers are knocking like they do at the beginning of every season.
Chain slapping pretty good, which is surprising.  I thought I had it tight when I put it down for the winter.
Doesn't matter.  Soon it will be me and the open road.
The Bonnie was DOA.
Completely non responsive.
Today it's the same.
Looks like some work needs done.

I just woke up.  My laptop was giving the low battery beep and I heard it in my dreams.  Been asleep since around 6 or something.  Going right back to bed in a few.

I feel powerless in a very important and painful situation some loved ones are going through.
I was asked to stay away for the time being.  Maybe I am in the way.  It feels that way.

To them:
I sincerely care about all of you.
The Ups and Downs are beating you up.  But it will be better.
I'm always thinking of you.

Going back to bed.  Hope to kick this illness before too long.

This Is The Day

Rough Night

Lot of coughing and hacking.
Temperature of 102.
Little bit of upchucking, but not too much.
Really wasn't a fun night.
I still went to work.

I found some yen, but not my zen

Coffee costs ten cents a cup at work.
Usually I pay.  Sometimes I kinda skate by without payment.
But then I catch up by over-paying with a couple of dollars, so it all works out.
Today I was getting a cup of coffee and found what I thought to be a casino token or something in the money can.
After looking it up, I found out it is 100 Yen in Japanese currency.
Odd.
You know what this means?
It means somebody over paid for their cup of coffee by $1.13 US with the current exchange rate.
Nobody likes a show off.  But I like my new coin.

Update: perhaps this belongs to G Man. When he reads this maybe he will let me know.

I am run down, and probably getting sick.
Sitting at home watching a movie, paying bills, doing laundry, and dozing in and out of sleep.
Not sure why I am so beat.

Other than feeling run down it has been a good day.
I had breakfast made for me, and it was really good.
I went to work and got some things done.
And now I am home getting things done.
Oh.  And blogging obviously.

Day Out

Though rough at times, it was a family day to remember.
It involved seeing Tangled at the dollar theater, dancing after the movie, raising hell at the mall, and chilling with my new best friend (and big toe) Joel.
He and I "cooked" all kinds of food together just before bed, with the plastic kitchen.
When you make memories like these, your life is going pretty well.

Somebody stole the Gay's Antenna.
Who steals antennae?
Is there a demand for such things on the black market?
Good grief.
Now I go down the road and notice everyone's antenna.  Must be nice to have one!

But seriously.  Who the hell steals a person's antenna?
Assbag.  Whoever you are.

Party Friday was again awesome.
El Canelo's again, which seems to work out the best.
After a very long week with noses to the grind stone we needed to get out of our cubicles.
I was grateful to be with good people.
The Dude failed to show to his own event.
So Vic decided to rename it the "Dudick Memorial Lunch".
I like that name.

4 Year Old Biscuit

The biscuit is 4 years old today.
So far it had chronicled bits of my life through three places of residence, two different jobs, me getting back into my career, several people come and gone, laughing, tears, and much more.
It's been quite the public diary so far.
Here's to another year on the triple W.

El Slippo Again

I was on 38th Street, turning onto Zuck.
I wasn't going very fast, but evidently all weather tires fail every now and then.  Much like when I had the accident that smashed the Santa Gay.
The ABS was going bonkers, the Santa Gay was all over the place, and the traffic on Zuck was working hard to get out of my way.
I came to a stop facing traffic, less than three inches from a lady's front bumper.
I waved to her and she waved back while holding her chest.
Funny thing is, I didn't get shaky until I started driving off.

Instead, all I thought (and yelled out loud at the same time) was "Shit I just fixed the car!".

Awe well.  Now I am sipping coffee in my living room and watching "Within The Woods" on youtube.  I'm about to head out again and go to work.

Electrical schematics.  Oh yeah.  Total masterpieces.  Works of art that will soon be the instructions for building the most kick ass control system my suctomer (spelled that way on purpose) ever had on those two beastly machines.

Wildman and I have been working hard on this project for quite some time now.  And soon we will have completed it.

Time to go.  Hope the Gay's tires hold out.

Lost In Spice

I felt like I was in kindergarten for story time again.
And I was told I was loved.
Always a plus.

I woke up this morning on top of the world.

Charles Bronson Interviewed - Action Films, Making of "St Ives" "Death W...

Legion

The birthday party at the Legion was the bomb.
I brought all my gangsta moves.
I brought all my style.
I brought all my pizazz.
We had a good time, and I got a decent report afterwards.
Hey.  Of course I did.

Jay is giving me the hook up.
The home defense weapon.
Evidently someone is living next door.
There have been three different vehicles in the driveway, so I am not sure which car (if not all of them) actually belong to the resident.
I'll give whoever they are some credit though.  They are super quiet.
Good.
At least I won't have to shoot through the closet.

Party Friday Lives On

El Canelo's today!
Wildman, Willie, Big Dipper, Dude, Meep, Dave G., and myself all partied it up today with some Mexican food.  It's the perfect way to relieve the work stress!
(And we are all stressed these days with the heavy work load.)
Dude loved it, but evidently his meal wasn't enough for him.  So he ate some of the food off of my plate.
It must be a bro-mance.  I love the Dude.
I'm not ashamed to admit that.

Lots and lots of work these days.  But we are getting it all done, because our company has the best engineers.
Party Friday is a necessity.  We all enjoyed some good laughs.

Gangstas

Bouncy balls, jellybean dances, Ronald getting some crazy love (above), and farting on the stick man.
I always get farted on.
Must be a standard.

And I got schooled on oobleck.
It was ooey, and gooey, but the best time I've had with corn starch.
And I've always wondered if there was any real use for that stuff.
