I went in to work today for about four hours. I am so close to the end of this job and ready to move on to the big one in desperate need of finishing.
Afterwards I went on out to the range!
The game plan was to test the PT to see if it was the crappy Federal ammo that caused the jam my last time out, which is what I suspected. But I had to be sure.
And the other half was to do some longer range shooting with the old crooked barreled magnum.
Oh yeah. I was geared up and looking fine as can be.
The PT...and yes another box of cheap ammo, but a brand that I have actually had perfect luck with.
All the rounds went fine without a hitch. So the lesson learned? No more Federal. Ever.
(Federal is also the brand that gave me some dead primers in .45acp.)
Bertha the big, crooked magnum. I shoot fine with it, but it's always kind of funny when someone else tries it and says "hey these sights look funny".
I shot at 25 yards. I shot at 50 yards. And of course anytime I go the range I feel the urge to try the 100 yard targets. Just for fun.
OK, judging by the above picture you can see I'm not a marksman by any means.
But in my defense I don't get to do a lot of shooting, and IT WAS AT 100 FREAKIN' YARDS. So gimme a break. I still hit a bullseye. Blind luck though, since I can barely see the target that far away.
The PT before reassembly. Looks odd with a magazine in and no slide.

The whole place smells like Ballistol. I dirtied every gun rag. I cleaned till my heart was way past content and bordering on annoyed.
But it's still the greatest to send lead downrange.

Forgot to mention: I can hit anything I point at with the bippy too now. Though I forgot to mention it in this post earlier, I shot it too.
