Well I finally got to test the Bippy!
And when they say you better have your permit, they mean it. No sooner had I started unpacking my gear, and this park ranger dude (with a 40 cal. Glock on his hip no less) comes out of the woods like a mighty bush man and asks to see a permit.
I showed it to him, and he looked let down. I guess he really wanted to hand out a fine. Poor dude.
Aside from a malfunction with the nine (pipe plug) that I never would have expected, the trip was really good.
The line up on the range was the JHP (.45 ACP), the PT ( 9X19mm), and the LCP (.380 ACP) A.K.A. Bippy.
Yeah, I wasn't too impressed with the PT. But using cheap ammo is always risky.
The Bippy was interesting. I am very happy with the firearm. Just not happy with how well I shoot with it. Bad guys have nothing to worry about right now, because I'll never hit them. I have no idea where the bullets were going half the time. I was probably a bit out of the gun's range (ten yards believe it or not is probably the recommended range for it) but still. I'll have to practice with it more before I carry it.
And as for the 9mm....I hope it's not a jam-o-matic all of the sudden.
The king for the day was the el cheapo JHP. I have yet to have a single problem with it, except for the fact that the gun isn't really built for the long haul. I would think a few thousand rounds will kill this thing.
But, for the money and the performance it has it was worth it. And the manufacturer will repair it for life.
Oh, and it's a real bruiser to shoot. Ouch.
Might not be able to see it very well, but the red mark between my index finger and thumb was still there over two hours after leaving the range.
The JHP hits hard. Definitely not for the timid.
(Honestly, the red mark was caused mostly by the LCP. It may only be a .380, but it's incredibly small. So it hurts after a while of shooting it. I just wanted to blame the JHP.)
And cleaning the damn things was a real beeyotch. Always the worst part of shooting.
