This show rocks.
It's basically ripping off the movies it is based on, but it's still pretty great.
I've long been a huge fan of the zombie genre, and this is a good addition to it.
Going to have to buy the series when they offer it on DVD.
It's easy to be hurt.
I've never before known somebody as cold.
Wish that coin had come up heads.
I love you.
You hurt me.
I would like to talk when we both cool down / are sober.

Sounds easy enough to say, right?
In practice it has proven to be incredibly difficult.

And last night was evidence of that.

That aside, it was a long day today.
I had to take care of serious business back home.  It wasn't the most pleasant, that's for sure.
And on my way back in to town I dropped off a card to my old landlord.  His battle is over, and his family no longer has to suffer with him.

Kind of one of them days that makes you wish you could be watching a movie about your life, rather than actually being the one in it.
But yet even so...life goes on.

And when you are in it, you have to handle things your own way.

Happy Halloween, everyone!

Trick plays?
Long runs?
Forced turnovers?
Did we just totally spank a team?
Holy crap.  This is what we have needed since I don't know how long!

Bubbie Bday

Today was Bubbie's birthday.
So after brekkie at Peggy's, Stella and I headed out to Splash Lagoon to celebrate with her and Hayden.
It was pretty cool.
My back still stings from the Hurricane Drop, though.  I am not sure why I always hit so hard.
It's probably because I am so bad ass.  Yeah, that's probably it.
After that Stella and I ate some subs and she slept upstairs in the squeaky bed.
She and I have done really well after confronting our differences and setting them aside.
It's been the best, actually.
***
Still cranking and laying with horror flicks.  They even had Cujo on.
Sipping Beam, enjoying the day's only dip (Copenhagen Long Cut) and reflecting on the weekend.

Lazy Day

Saturday was a completely lazy day.
I laid on the couch and watched movies for at least half the day.
For a good portion of that laying time, Stella was all entangled with me, snoozing away.  I nodded off a few times myself, but never for more than 10 minutes at a time.
I finally got moving a bit after she left, but drove over to her place to do the same thing all over again.
I woke up in the dark by myself, as she had left for work.
Now I'm just watching even more horror films.
I don't know what this movie is, but some bad ass chick is running around with a double barreled shotgun.  She just shot a hole through a door, which is always pretty sweet.

I'm sure Stella would not approve (neither would Awesome) but I went and bought some Cope.  Pouches this time, so I don't get all the little gritties in my toofs.  I don't think they put nicotine in the pouches, though.  And gosh darnit that's the whole reason for dipping in the first place.

Grrrrr.  I'm not wasting money on those thangs again.  I'm proud of myself though.  I've cut the dipping in half, and pretty soon it will be a very casual thing at best.

At that point Stella can only be mad at me for being an ass, and not for dipping.

Maybe I'll go to bed.  Haven't decided yet.
Chatted briefly with Cajun Tiger Steve on FB.
Seems like a nice dude.

Friday

We partied over at my place last night.  There was some boogying, laughing, the Ghostbusters movie, Jim Beam, and much more.  I'm not ashamed to admit that I danced to a Britney Spears song while swinging my shirt around my head.
Then we got hold of Fred, and went to a place down the road from me.  There were some people strangling the cat on stage for karaoke.

Then we checked out another place before closing out the night.
Though it wasn't an impressive place, it was nice to be out.
Stella got to see Fred in his toned down mode.  He was behaving pretty well.
Fred was broke, though.  So I footed his bill.  That bum.

Pumpkin Carving Last Night

The time is just right for some Halloween spirit.
So a trip to Mason Farms was in order!

Tons and tons of pumpkins.
There were so many to choose from.
I think we got a couple of the best they had, though.

There were interesting displays of monsters, ghouls, skeletons, characters from movies (even Shrek), and some big balloons.  In the above pic you see an example.
I don't even want to know where the stem of that big pumpkin is at (ahem).

Stella cracked hers open and dug in like a madwoman.  She was super focused.
At one point, she had the look of determination on her face, her leg up on the chair, and the little pumpkin carving knife going like crazy.

I had a different approach.  I just man handled the damned thing.
And showed that pumpkin who was boss.
Pictured above was my attempt at showing what it must look like when I would scoop the guts out of the pumpkin.
I'm not sure if that's my pumpkin carving face, or my O-face.  If it's the latter...I feel sorry for her.

The finished products were pretty dope fa' sho'.
I think I got overshadowed a bit by her fancy one (on the right), but I still had fun.

After the carving, we watched 'Dead And Breakfast'.
It was a really nice night.
Halloween has been my favorite holiday for quite some time now.  I look forward to it every year.

I also got a random text from Fred that said 'Jolene can't come over unless she brings a friend.'
Freddo.  You gotta love that guy.

Apple - Bees

Got myself one of them spiffy gift cards at the last golf tournament, and tonight was the night it got used!
Man oh man.
Some good grubbins.
Good company.
And nothing closes out a good night out better than some good nookie.
Kidding.  Or am I?
After all that funness I headed home.  Now I'm watching the Outlaw Dipper getting crazy.
Whew. This guy is hilarious.
***
Did this post make any sense?  No?  Oh well, I guess they can't all be zingers.

Inspection

The Santa Gay passed its inspection with flying colors.
I take pretty good care of it, much like the Bonnie.  So I wasn't too shocked when it needed nothing.
It's been a whole year with this beast of grocery getter.
And I've raked up a lot of miles on it.

Cajun Tiger Steve is the greatest.
Pack yourself a big juicy one, and head over to his channel.
It's the best.  I'm talking about all the goodness you'd expect: mudjugs, reviews, jokes, and commentary that makes you watch videos until the wee hours.

Ripley (AGAIN)

Damn online payments are still not working for me.
So in order to make a payment on my car loan I had to once again go out into Ripley.
I put a note with the check asking them idiots to call me so this can get straightened out.
I also made a stop at an old friend's house.  She and her man were happy to see me.  We joked for a bit in the living room, and I got some grub too.  It was not really edible but I didn't complain.
Probably have the craps tonight.

Following that visit, I met out with Stella for a talk.
I always babble too damned much, but she took it.
She had some things to say too, and....well let's face it, nobody is perfect and yeah there are things I have to tone down.  The babbling, for one.
Fast temper for another.

She and I are alike in many regards.  Some toning is needed on her end too.

Differences aside, I'm glad we took the time to talk.  We needed to.

I'm going to take things one minute at a time.
And we'll see where our story goes from here.

Just got back in from coffee with a nice friend.
Spur of the moment.
Life never stops throwing curve balls.  Sometimes they curve just right.
I was grateful for the company.

Browns Vs. Steelers

Holy crap they actually put a game on the TV here.
Usually I can't watch a Browns game unless I go to Haggerty's or some other place.
And yes, of course my heart was slightly broken....yet again.
What are we up to, a spiffy record of 1-5 now?  Whoa.
That jerk Rothlisfucker didn't show any signs of rust at all in this game, even with the 4 game suspension, so I guess I have to tip my Browns hat to him.  Good job out there today, asshole.
And the worst news: Josh Cribbs is out with an injury, thanks to James Harrison, who has publicly stated that it is his main goal to hurt opponents.  This one especially hurts, because Cribbs is a Kent State alumni like myself.
But some good news:  Phil Dawson surpassed the great Lou Groza in field goals. He is a record setter.  Way to go Phil!!!
One last thing I'll say isn't bad about the Steelers, are some of their fans, as indicated below.
Yeah, I have a hard time finding anything wrong with fans like that.

And while the Browns have the most maniacal and loyal fans in all history, below is what we have at the sidelines.
Woof.  Literally.

***
It was an interesting game day.  I killed at least 15 beers with Fred, who is the ultimate dude to watch football with, even if he is a squeelers fan.
And completely randomly there was a knock on the door at halftime, and it ended up being Awesome Marsha...making a random visit up to my neck of the woods.
And let's face it.  Awesome is the ultimate chic to watch football with.
So we sat there joking, drinking, and eating pizza...having a good time.  So the Browns losing the game wasn't all that bad at all.
Good company makes everything better.
***
My head wandered constantly, however.  My phone kept getting blown up by everyone.  High school friends, Shannon, Kathy, Kelly, Tim, and more....and yet with all the awesome people throwing support and harassment (my favorite) my way, I just wanted a text from Stella.
Fate would have it.  I got a text from her.  Some things are incredibly easy in life, and others are extremely painful.  Being blatantly honest with her is one of the painful things.
Another chapter in the future with her?  We'll see.
For now, I am only hoping for the silly differences to be shoved aside.
I'll give it time.
And I'll think more clearly in the morning when the hangover is rearing it's ugly head.  And we'll go from there.

Midnight Movie

I felt like crap from lack of sleep, but I still had a decent time.
The movie sucked though.
Rule of thumb: never have expectations when watching a movie for the first time.

Lady, you are always going to be beautiful.
Congrats to you too, Danny.

Return Of The Fisher King

Fred, my neighbor, just got back last night.
Evidently he spent two weeks in jail.  Well, that was reason to celebrate in my opinion, so I split a 12 pack with him.

So Freddo and I got our buzz on, swapped man stories, and discussed what our jail experiences were like.

We have plans to get into trouble together after his parole is complete.  (But plans aren't needed for me to get into trouble...I accomplish it at random.)

I have learned that you are never too old for trouble.

I showed him the tagged website, which is one I have had an account on at least five times.  He was impressed with the capabilities that site would obviously provide him, and took it upon himself to message a lady (while logged in as me) a very crude message.

The following day she replied and I had to apologize.

***
Just as a side note, I would hate having the name Fred.

We took a nice walk on Presque Isle today.
Mostly we talked about her dad and his girlfriend.
We also talked about Hayden, and how much fun she had with him and her sister at Port Farms earlier in the day.  One of the funny parts of that was him pulling down a display of apples.
You have to love kids for that!
Again, some of that tension showed up, as it randomly does.
But it was still a decent walk.

It has proven to be the last thing we will probably do together.
Hopefully the things I remember are the times like this walk.

Stella wanted to go for a motorcycle ride.
She wan't really dressed for it, and I kind of went out a little too far.  I hope she didn't freeze too bad.
We ended up going to a place her step dad owns.  He came off as a really nice guy.
The food there was great, and the people were very nice.
There was some of that familiar tension between Stella and I, but it passed quick enough.

Afterwards, we rode back to my place and watched 'Waiting...'.  It was a hilarious movie.  I am going to buy it.

Then I went out for some snacks, and we watched 'Taking Chance'.  That is in my top favorites list.  I think she enjoyed it too.

Overall, it was one of the best nights I have had in recent times.  Maybe longer.
Nights like this are rare.
The greatest vendor of all time put on a safety seminar.
It was super informative, and I also learned something about myself as far as my ability to profile people.
Incorrectly, that is.
This guy sat in the back row with me.  He was covered in tattoos.  Very dark complected.
Tennis shoes.
I was thinking 'what the hell is he doing here'.
Turns out he was the smartest guy in the entire class.
I had some discussions with him after the class about calculus, physics, and engineering.
This guy was amazing.

This film has some unique segments in it.  There is slapstick, gutter-humor, and wholesome humor in it, with scenes of despair and cruelty as well.
John Candy showed some of his range in this film, but Martin displayed the greater depth.
It's still one of Candy's best films.
Stella and I tried watching this film once before, but she fell asleep.  Tonight we were able to finish it.
Afterwards we hung out for a bit.

Port Farms Journey

The Triumph needed another outing, so I rode for a bit today.
I ended up heading South, and inadvertently finding Port Farms.  This is the place I am going to soon to get some pumpkins from.  (It's pumpkin carving season you know.)
It's a cool place.
I continued South and turned around when I got into Union City.  I turned back at that point.
And I gotta tell ya, with the sun coming in through the trees it was really beautiful.
Slightly rolling hills.
Leaves are turning different colors.
And the temperature was just right.
Spiffy ride!
Orange is my favorite color, except for when I see a Browns score.
1-4.
Well, maybe next season we'll do better.
Who am I kidding?

A great movie is on.
Classic stuff, even when cable edits all the good lines.

New Hoody! HIO!

I generally try to get something on this blog whenever I make a purchase from jupmode.com.
Ok, none of these pictures are very good promotional pictures.  But they were what I could come up with for the night.

(What in tar-nation am I looking at?)

(Cheesy self shot.  I'm always a ham.)

This hoody is perfect for the fall weather.  Buy one of these, get some Jimmy B in your highball glass, and go chill on your deck.  If you don't have a deck, offer your neighbor who has one some Jimmy B and sit on his or her deck.  It's all good when your sharing whiskey...and sporting the best looking gear.
Even Michigan fans will be envious.

Around The Isle

I took the dirty Bonneville around the isle today.
It was a nice, cool ride.
A lot of other riders had the same idea.  So there was a lot of the 'motorcycle wave' going on.
Think I'll ride it into Harbor Creek tonight.
There's nothing like a nice, cool night ride.

Not too many rides left this season!  I give it about 4 more weeks and the snow starts dropping.
So Bonnie and I are going to hit the road for a few more motorcycle memories before it's all over for 2010.

working this morning

I/O counting.  Rack building.
Checking out Lisa's animations for the open house.
Trip to Kinko's to pick up the poster I made.
Busy morning.

ok, this was one that i actually liked.
much better than anger management that we watched last night.
plus, it's nice to get out to a theater again.

Update: Messer rides a Triumph Bonneville / Scrambler.  Totally sweet ride.

New Purchase

I have a new Ohio State hoodie being shipped to me, by way of jupmode.com.
It's a super sweet article of clothing, and I'm going to rock it like the sexy beast that I am.
Do yourselves a favor.  Click on the image above, which I blatantly stole without permission but I hope that's OK with the Boy Of Destiny, and check out the clothing there.
I can promise you that you will not regret it.
CLICK THE IMAGE AND CHECK IT OUT.

New Place To Eat

If you are ever in Erie, you should check out Mama Mia's.
They have some seriously good grub.  Not a lot of seating, but some good grub.
Stella took me to this place, and I really enjoyed it.
No, her name really isn't Stella.  But I decided to call her that on my blog.
***
Oh, I decided to go back and edit this post to add the fact that today while on the way to Mama Mia's, I was tortured by being forced to listen to Tricia Yearwood...and some Alabama.  Well, something odd happened.  When Alabama came on (If You Want To Play In Texas)...I caught my right foot tapping.  Uh oh.
Now mind you, on the way over to Stella's I was listening to some classic Coal Chamber.  Completely un-country.  And I have always been pretty anti-country.
But my right foot obviously liked what was happening.
Ok, so I am broadening my horizons.....and catching myself listening to country, looking at pickup trucks and thinking they are cool, and and wanting to get a camouflage hat like Brett wears.
Awe sheeyit.

New Number

I changed the cell number today.
I'm going to miss that old 440 number.  But, it's nice to start over with a new one.
I still may have a few people to get updated, but I'm working on it.
It will probably take me the rest of the year to remember the new number!

Cope

Wow.  It's been a long time since something has knocked me on my ass like this stuff did.
It was like instant adrenaline...followed by my brain floating...and then my stomach doing the same.
Good stuff.
But it's time to again kick this habit.
How many times have I quit?  At least five.
Time to get ready for the headaches.

1-3

Well we pulled one off, and I'm sad to say that I'm surprised.
I hope we end up clinching a few more this year.
Way to go, Browns.

Stanley Tucci is one of my favorite actors.
He will really creep you out in this movie.
***
Well.
It's after 3:30AM and I am still wide awake.

Wow.  A whole bunch of things are going on right now.  At work, at home, and on the net.

And there may be trouble coming.

Bring it, Sam.  I deserve it.

As for the remainder of my time awake....I'm watching some old action movie with Sam L. in it.  Not the best movie, but he has a sweet 357 in it.

Numba 2

I went over to Wildman and Amber's place last night to watch a movie.
We got some phillie cheese steak pizza, and a cheese pizza.  It was seriously the cheesiest pizza ever.  Really good!
I never saw the first movie.  But the second one stunk so bad I fell asleep.
I kind of feel bad for falling asleep, but hey...it was not a very interesting movie to me.
I hope to have more movie nights with them, and I also hope the movie doesn't put me to sleep!

The Shot

Them mean nurse ladies came to my place of work today and gave out flu shots.
Eeeew.
I was really at odds about getting one.
Last year I got a darn shot, and I still got the flu.
I remember being at work in the bathroom stall, making all kinds of gross noises, and just a-heaving away.  It wasn't one of my funnest days.
So I had to really think about getting one since the effectiveness is in question, added to the fact that I HATE needles.
But my arm didn't fall off.  I didn't pass out.  And I didn't cry.
Although I wanted to.  Like a little girl that had her blow-pop taken away.
Let's hope I don't get the flu this year.  Otherwise I am not getting stabbed again.
