Last Mill Creek Game?

Dave G and I went out to the Millcreek golf course tonight.
This time we had to pay, but at least we finished the entire game.
Afterwards, we went to the sandbar. It was a decent night out.

I chilled with Theresa at her place afterwards.

The Western

A friend I haven't seen in about three years got hold of me through facebook.
Big Bill Western! (That was my nickname for him).
I've missed that crazy dude.
It was good to get a message from him.

Bree Has Been Goofy Lately

She says she loves her daddy.
When I asked who her daddy was, she said "You!"
When I said "Me?" in return, she replied with:
"No, you're my baby."
The mind of a three year old must be like a fun house mirror. All wobbly, warped, and just plain fun.
check this shite out:

mox-anoutlandishbiscuit.blogspot.com

On July 12th, 2009...looks like another outlandish biscuiter joined the blogging world.

Most interesting. Good thing I nabbed the domain when it was still original.

It's a nice blog though.

1.) The Z Man is using a few of my ideas I came up with in my drawing sets on his current set. I took that as a rather nice compliment.
2.) The contractor in Joja tells me that my set of drawings is the nicest set he has seen. Maybe he hasn't seen many sets of drawings. But I still take it as a compliment.

It's been super busy lately. I got a bit stressed today for the first time in a while. I had been making a point not to get all stressed out at work any more, and for the most part it was working.

But really it wasn't stress from fear. It was stress from frustration. My work computer has been pissing me off. It just doesn't want to work right lately. Damned thing.

Everything will work out, and I'll be making big strides in the upcoming project.

Update: The guys in Joja mentioned they would like me to come back down. So my boss is going to be contacted. Looks like I'm going to be suiting up to hit the road again. Bummer.

halloween is on. i haven't seen this movie since i saw it in the theater.
reference here.
good movie for some beam, and a stogie.

Fires Up Like Always

The Bonneville is itching to get out of the garage.
I'm obliged to make it so.

The Girls Are Living It Up

i worked 12 hours today, but the girls lived it up in new york city.
good for them - they deserve it!
i miss them, but they'll be home soon.
until they get back, it's just working long hours by day....and beam and my corn cob pipe at night.
i'm watching screamers on the sci fi channel. that movie rocks.
***
the neat thing about work today, was that i got to work late with dave z. he and i are both pulling the major hours lately. actually the entire controls group is.
i also talked to jaybo and marty the party for about and hour total over the phone. marty is in joja. so far he says things are going ok down there. jay just got back from there, and marty is all by himself. i hate the fact that he's by himself. i am planning on making a trip down there soon.
just puffing my pipe like a champ right now. trying to relax.

At The Bayfront

The controls group went to the Bayfront Convention Center today.
Reference HERE.
We went to a seminar on new safety products. It was a pretty sweet trip. Technology just keeps improving everyday...making industrial machinery safer for people.
Of course the best part was the free lunch. Everyone loves a free lunch.

Bree's First Day Of Swimming Class

She's like a little guppy.

Golf Begins

The Millcreek Golf Center was closed. But Dave G. and I golfed anyway.
I can't say I was too impressed with my performance, but I did have two pretty sweet drives. I almost cleared the trees on hole 5. But instead I hit the trees.
Still not bad for the first time out, in addition to the fact that it was pretty chilly out.
So Dave and I sloshed around in the muck for a bit. We didn't play the full 9 holes, but we at least got 5 in. Afterwards we went to the Sandbar and had a few beers.
Not a bad start to the season.

Tonight I worked late.
It was a horribly hectic day. For some reason, I didn't let it stress me out, but it was still hectic.
Then I went to Theresa's and watched "America's Funniest Videos" with Bree.
She and I laughed at the collection of cat video clips.
Theresa cooked some talapia.
I went out and picked up some black and tan.
Now I'm just hanging out.

Quinn, Anderson Gone

Though I've never been a huge Brady fan, it's a shame to see that his stay with the Browns was so rocky. It seems that the Browns are continually in a state of fluctuation that never produces good results. Hopefully, these recent fluctuations are a sign of something different.
Also gone is Anderson. Towards the end, he seemed fairly bitter toward the Cleveland fans, and may have had good reason. But that aside, he will now hopefully have a chance with another team.
Quinn is off to the Broncos, and currently Anderson is a free agent.
We'll see what happens for these two.
***
As the football season gets closer, I begin to wonder what the Browns will look like. I hope this year some things start to happen for them.
Flight of The Navigator was just on. That movie rocks.

Other movies from my childhood that rocked:
The Explorers
The Dirtbike Kid
The Goonies

Not sure why I am all of the sudden thinking of those movies. Oh well.

Well, Theresa is still sleeping, and my stomach is starting to rumble. I just woke up Bree to see if she wanted some breakfast. She's since disappeared...maybe trying to wake up Theresa.

I tell ya, that kid has morning breath that will curl your hair.

I guess I'll get moving. Gotta start the day sometime.

cigar smoke stanks, but cigars are tasty.
pipe tobacco smells nice, but is nasty.
plus it's a little tricky smoking a pipe.
my corn cob is all charred, the whole apartment smells like cavendish, and i wish i had a stogie.

Theresa's New Coffee Pot

Theresa sent me the above picture earlier today while I was at work.
Oops.
Then she sent the picture with the black cup.
Problem solved!

Trying Something New

I'm not sure why, but I bought this. It's due in the mail sometime next week.
I've been a stogie guy for a long time, but thought it might be interesting to try a pipe.
When I read that corn cob pipe don't require any break-in period, and are seriously cheap (this one cost me four dollars), I decided to get all "General MacArthur".
There are tutorials on the web about the required tools, and the 'art' of pipe smoking.
Who knows - this might end up being another new thing I tried that didn't work out. An example of such a thing can be found HERE. Or, this might end up being just as enjoyable as stogies. We'll see!

MDA Time Again

For the third year in a row, I'm trying to raise some cash for the MDA.
Last year was a very successful year because I was able to join forces with coworker (also named Paul), in addition to my employer matching the funds.
This year we aren't going to be doing any of that, and I'm doing it by myself again. But it's still going to be a successful year.
Do me a favor and drop by my page, and if you feel the need to drop a bit of cash - please do so.
You can get to my MDA page HERE, or in my MDA link underneath the outlandish biscuit logo.

I spent at least half of my work day on the phone with people from Joja.
There are questions regarding the electrical code, cables, and wire terminations. For some reason it didn't really stress me out. Probably because so far nothing has been a mistake of mine. But I have a pretty good feeling that my day is coming...maybe as soon as tomorrow. (There are always mistakes, you know.)
I keep thinking more and more that I'll be making another trip down there.
But we'll see how things go.

On a different topic, Theresa gave me a bunch of poopy tasting protein powder. And some other crap called creatine. It looks like I'm going to have to take all the clothes off of the weight bench permanently this time, and really try to build some muscle. I think I can do it.
We'll see how that goes too.

Lastly, I recently did my taxes. Another year - another time disappointed with my return. Oh well. I will pay off Uncle Sam, and move on without blinking an eye. At least I'm not really in the hole since I prepaired for it this time around.
Has everyone else done their taxes yet?
Helpful tip: don't go to H and R. I have decided that laziness is no excuse for using them morons any more. So I'll be back to doing it on my own next year, no matter how complicated it is.

They are wiring the press in Georgia finally.
They plan to be done by Saturday night! Holy schmoly these dudes must work fast.

I might have to make another trip down that way before it's all said and done, but for now it looks like things are going really fast down there.

These dudes sure aren't playing around.

Friday, March 5, 2010

Today was a hectic day. But not an all-out bad day.
At least I gained most of my 'strength' back.
My slightly chubbier face is already gone, by the way. All the weight I gained recently has left, along with a few extra pounds. That's just how it goes. A few days of being sick turns everything upside down for me. 'Sigh', life with a weak immune system.

What's in order for the night? A premium stogie and some Beam. I need warmed up.
Stogie and Beam fun fact: watch the movie G.I. Jane. In a cigar smoking scene, guess what whiskey she has with her? I just noticed that when the film was on recently.

Tomorrow I go in to work to catch up on a lot of things. I'll probably end up working a full day.

But the work day will get split down the middle, because it's Alex's birthday party!!!!!
Alex Reference HERE

I'll also probably work Sunday night. Somehow a lube system that needed integrated on the press in Georgia was missed. Adding it into the I/O, Device List, Conduit Drawings, Conduit Reports, Layout and Location Drawings, Creating a Junction Box Major Assembly, and a Device Tag Drawing is all starting to cause me some grief. Sometimes it is the 'smallest' things that end up causing us the most pain.

But it's all good. Just let it do what it do cuz it ain't no thang.
Fo' Sho'.

Niagara Falls

For Theresa's birthday we went to Niagara falls.
It was a blast. I have to say, it was just as fun as when we went in July.

Above is Bree next to a random snowman that somebody made. According to her, it was her friend. (She never named it though.)
We hung out in Canada and had a blast!
Theresa and I take great pictures together.
***
We ate at the Rainforest Cafe. Bree was afraid of the moving robot gorillas, but after a while she was able to get over the fear. She started telling them "you're not so tough!"
It was a really great time, and I'm glad we got to spend Theresa's birthday at the falls!
(Happy Birthday Tree!)

Bree Went To The Doc Today

Today Bree had a scheduled trip to the doctor. I guess she ended up getting her finger pricked.
She's none the worse for wear, though. She's a tough little trooper and recovers fast.
Meanwhile, I'm sitting at home recovering from the flu. A 24 hour type I guess. It looks like I will be going back to work tomorrow.
But as for Bree - this gal is growing like a weed and everything is looking peachy.
I went home early from work yesterday with the flu.

It's been a yucky morning.
I'm starting to feel better, but I'm still leary of putting a bunch of food in my stomach.
