Cruising

I had leather on from my neck down because it was 50 degrees out, and relatively humid.
But it was a great ride.
Wildman and I took a ride out into Girard, PA and back. The Triumph ran great.
After riding I went out to eat with Wildman, Amber, and Alex.
The ride was enough to make me remember what I love about riding.
And now I'm pumped for summer in Erie, because Erie is excellent in the summer.

Tractors

I worked a bit with Wildman on some tractors he bought. I tell ya, that guy really is a maniac.
He works like a busy-body on these thangs, and sells them.
And actually makes money. Maybe I need to get him on the MDA team.

Wanted

The two Pauls are combining their efforts.
Reach into that wallet or purse and yank out some cashola!
............
Last year was difficult, but this year it is ten times harder to raise money.
Hopefully by combining our efforts we can get the job done.
And even better news is, we were able to get our company to match donations made by fellow employees! Now that's how to do it.

It's that time of year again.

I'm raising money for the MDA.
So give some donations, ya'll. Because it is for a great cause.

Thank you!

First Ride Of '09

I need to keep myself occupied these days. Well, distracted is a better word. Disracted from this annoying retainer. It has to be the worst annoyance I've had in a really long time.
That being said, I decided to be ambitious today and reassemble the Black Granny's dashboard.
Once that was done, I moved on to the bikes in the garage. I fired up the Triumph first, out in the driveway. After a few minutes of letting it idle I decided to grab my helmet and take it out for a spin.
I took it real easy on the bike since I had just tightened the chain last week.
I think it needs a little carb cleaner. It was starving for gas for a while.
Other than that, it was a nice ride.
>>>>>>>
After the ride, I fired up Wildman's hippo. It sure took some effort but it finally started with a little attitude. I had just yelled at it 'start, you piece of shit', and it started with a little bit of 'what did you say to me?' attitude.
Just a little, mind you.
The Maxer was a whole other story, however.
It seems as though Mr. Max has seen better days.
The idle is absolutely horrible, and the smoke is pretty white. I am guessing that means the rings are gettin a bit worn on the pistons. Also, a fair amount of fresh oil had collected under the bike after just a few minutes of the death-rattle that was as close to an idle as the bike could get.
It's bleeding pretty bad.
Furthermore, the clutch is non-responsive. I filled it with brake fluid two days ago, and the reservoir is still full, but it makes no difference. So I started taking things off in preparation for taking it all out.
The leak is coming somewhere from behind the clutch cover. Right from the clutch release cylinder.
After I take it off I can both fix the leak and find out why it isn't responding.

Big Bronson

I bought the movie that made him the man today.
Long live the Bronson!

Beef & No Beer

We three went to Beef & Beer today.
Odd thing is, they are under new management, and no longer have a license to sell beer.
Maybe they need to change their name.
.......

Appliance Removal

Today is the day I got my braces removed.
Two years I had them on!
I was one of three people all sitting next to one another that were getting braces removed.
It was like a brace-removing party. Now I just need to get used to wearing my retainer.
(I think it's worse than the braces.)
I hung out with Theresa and Bryanna today, and made a point of flashing my smile every chance I could.

My biggest supporter of the day was Bryanna. She kept sneaking away from the lobby to get some glances at them doing work on me. So they finally let her sit on a bench to watch.
She was pumped.
........
I also got to hang out at the Warren Library a few times today, and got the chance to chill with Awesome Marsha.
Furthermore, I got the title for the Black Granny today.
Over all, it was a productive day.

elmo

I turned the light on in my bedroom just 15 minutes ago.
Elmo scared the shit out of me.
I guess Bryanna left him here.
I am still recovering from the heart attack.

Alex!

Ya'll gotta head on over to Amber's blog. The up-do-date scoop on little Alex is there, and it will hopefully be regularly updated.
http://citygirlinaredneckworld.blogspot.com/
So check it out, because Alex is the shiznit.

Here I am with the little guy. I actually got to hold this dude when he was only 12 hours old.
He is already the man, which is fairly intimidating.

You just don't get any cuter.
Is cuter a real word?

Better Day Today

Things have been bumming me out lately.
It seems like it is one bit of bad news after another any more.
But today I actually got a few things accomplished at work, which was nice.
I am also in good spirits because I am looking forward to tomorrow.
Tomorrow the upper braces get removed.
That's a good thing.

Mo' Leaking

I just found another leak (in addition to the Bonneville's) when I went down to wash clothes.
It looks like both a drain and a copper water pipe are leaking all of the sudden.
Interesting.
So I placed a bucket on the floor to catch it.
The good news is, at least I don't need to repair this leak. I can call maintenance.
.......

She Leaks Like All Women Do

The brake master cylinder reservoir on the Bonneville has a slight leak.
I love the bike, but it sure is difficult to get parts or service for.
The nearest dealer is 86 miles away, and they only ship via authorized-signature UPS.
I can have the dealer request a non-signature shipment, as far as I know.
I can handle the shipping headaches, but driving all that way anytime I need service is a bummer.
The good news is, it isn't going to be an expensive fix. Under $50.00 and I should be leak-free.

Awesome Marsha Came Up This Weekend

It's always great to have her around.
Her nickname says it all.

She is really interesting to watch when she cooks.
Anybody who has witnessed it will know what I mean.

Shave Set Assembled

The retro shave set for my new (well its always been a bit of a fetish) fad is now complete.
The retro razor, cleaning brush, anti-bleeding stick thingy, and the shave brush and soap.
I am interested in the dumbest things. So I finally added the stupid label to a post about shaving.

Easter Shopping For Bryanna

It's always an adventure to go shopping.
Of course, I found some things for me as well.
I don't recall all the little things like this little bunny being available when I was a kid.
Bryanna sure has more options as a kid than I did!
The perfect partner for Easter shopping is Awesome Marsha.
She's fun to bring along just about anywhere. Always good for some laughs.
She's a maniac shopper!

Little Bit Of Work On The Bonnie

I tightened the chain a bit, but it may need more.
Then I fired it up and let it run for a bit.
I also researched the fuel venting system, and have decided that the vapor locking issue may need to wait for further troubleshooting. I will need to take the gas tank off to continue troubleshooting, and I have to do that to change the spark plugs anyway...so I will investigate when I do the plug change.
Something odd is happening: the brake master cylinder leaks a very small amount. Maybe there is corrosion in the mating parts....interesting.
********
The Vmax wouldn't start. The battery was too dead. And the clutch is completely empty, so that is definitely on the list of things to fix.
Everything of mine is falling apart!

Retro Shave

Car woes seem to be plentiful these days, as do woes from countless other sources.
That being the case, an inexpensive way to keep me occupied for a while is with my new razor. It's old school. I'm learning how to shave with it, as it's very different than using the Fusion or Mach 3.
So we'll see. I'm thinking it will be a huge cost savings once I learn how to use it.
Average price for 4 Fusion blades: 24 for $60.00
Each blade = approx. $2.50
Average price for 100.00 old school blades = approx. $15.00
Each blade = approx. 15 cents.

MCC Assemble

Marty and I went to Milwaukee to assemble a motor control center.
Marty "The Party" was definitely the best guy I could have had with me. I couldn't have done it without him.
We struggled with heavy parts, no electrical prints, and no tools. But in the end we were successful.

Wednesday, March 4, 2009

The work has been accomplished.
And we didn't have to wear helmets today. That was great.
***
This is my first time in Milwaukee.
I'm staying at the weirdest hotel I've ever been in.
The same GPS was brought along that Marty and I had when we were in Texas, and I'm sure you guessed...we quit trying to use it after ten minutes. It's not getting used for the rest of this trip.

Packed For Milwaukee

I fly out tomorrow at 3:00PM for Milwaukee.
It's going to be Marty and I on the road again. (Marty was with me the first time in Texas.)
We are on a mission to assemble a motor control center. We have one day to do it.
