fly reel

My mother was getting rid of some things from her recent move.
I remember this old fly reel from when I was a kid. It was always on a shelf.
Anywho, when she told me it was a fly reel (because I never knew what it was), I immediately thought of my hero - Dudick.
He is an avid fly fisherman. I offered it to him, and while he did not want to take it, he was completely pumped about seeing it. He wanted to look up information on it, inspect it with a magnifying glass, and guess on its age. He thinks it is over 100 years old, and is therefore impressed that it is still quite smooth to spin.

Well, I have decided to make a fly rod, even if I have no real interest in fly fishing. I think it would be cool to build a fly rod, using this antique reel. Maybe then Dudick will take it.
